Within a short span of 3 years, PG Mall, the homegrown online marketplace founded by Public Gold Group (commonly known as PG Group), has impressively ranked 3rd most visited online marketplace among other foreign-owned online marketplaces in Malaysia, by iPrice Insights with a total monthly site visit of 1,688,500 visitors as of its Q1 2020 report.

From a mere RM500,000 revenue recorded in 2017, PG Mall’s revenue expanded 10 folds in the following year to RM5 million in 2018. With the exceptional growth seen to date, PG Mall is set to reach a targeted revenue of RM100 million by year end.

“We recorded stellar performance on all fronts of our business throughout the year, with robust shopping activities during the second half of the year. This was supported by major shopping festivals such as 9.9, 11.11 and 12.12. Our volumes have been steadily increasing campaign to campaign. Hence, the appointment of Ninja Van was imperative in order for us to ensure that our users are able to get their parcels on time,” said Ian Ho, Regional Managing Director of Shopee.

Commenting on the industry’s landscape, Ho added that there is a lot more potential for the e-commerce industry in Malaysia to grow. “Seeing as e-commerce contribution to total retail is still below 3%, and very much at its infancy, there is a lot more work to be done. Alena Murang Launched Her New Music Video

An independent musician of Kelabit heritage from Sarawak, Alena launched her ‘Midang Midang’ music video at GSC Quill City Mall on 27 November 32019.

“Heritage songs are such an important way to keep our language, values and stories alive. Our Kelabit songs almost always have elements of nature, and that is why this time it was so important for us to film on the land in which the song came from-Miri and Bario village.”

The music video showcased an ancestral Kelabit song in a contemporary way, demonstrating adaptations of Kelabit music, dance and land and Sarawak fashion: with the likes of LANA, Maatin Shakir, Von Jolly Couture, Atelier Karl jimmy, TeeCode, Wan Bynun, Neng Kho Razali, Raben Beads and Tanoti being donned by the star. Each film department was led by Orang Ulu youths, proving once again that heritage  has a contemporary home.

Unlike any other Christmas, this year Quill City Mall KL has transformed its Main Atrium into a Blokganza Dream Christmas town featuring very unique block elements (Santa Claus, Christmas Trees, Christmas Wreath, Red Nose Reindeer, Christmas Present Boxes, Christmas Sleigh, Christmas Candy Cane, Christmas Stockings and hats) as the main elements that will spark joy and fill the air with endless fun and laughter this Christmas.

Blocks are one of the most educational toys available. Just like building a dream, anything could be build using blocks. Surrounded by an all blocks themed Christmas, these loose blocks are able to do wonders by enhancing the imagination and to motivate creative thinking among children. Shoppers will also witness a one-of-a-kind humongous Christmas tree completely made from blocks, standing almighty at 20-feet tall in the centre of the Main Atrium. This eye-catching tree is not to be missed upon stepping into Quill City Mall KL.

This season of giving we would like to be the platform for children to discover their dreams while having fun through “Dream Vending Town”; a play town centered idea for children to explore more about real-world occupations. Happening through interactive exhibits and plays; children are able to have fun while fostering their curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork. We would love to inspire and empower children that their dreams are worth pursuing and it is okay to dream big. Also, the dream vending town is an inspiring play town for children to explore and to dream like grown-ups do. Our Dream Vending town offers 10 different fun-filled role-play dream station to be explored (Police Station, Fire Station, Hospital, Radio Station, Airline Training Centre, Shopping Mall, Cooking School, Modelling School, Acting & Entertainment and Driving Centre).

Tickets to Dream Vending Town is priced at RM10 each for an entry of a child (get more information on the passport).

Interesting Christmas elements awaits you at the mall as various Christmas booths are set up in the mall whereby shoppers and visitors can indulge in delicious food, fun filled interactive activities and get new outfits to celebrate the jolly festive season. During the Blokganza Dream Christmas Grand Launch on 23 November 2019, in line with the Christmas spirit of giving and sharing, Quill City Mall KL invited a total of 20 children from Lighthouse Children Welfare Home Association, Kuala Lumpur as part of a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program. Various fun filled interactive activities and games will be organized in the mall for children to have fun and an enjoyable time together with their beloved parents. Also, goodies bag were given to children plus a sumptuous tea time treat at a restaurant in the mall.

SUNWAY PALS Annouced Partnership With Enrich

It is the first strategic partnership between these two organisation ti benefit avid members through points exchange collaboration.

Starting from 13 November, the conversion initiative members of both programmes to put their Enrich Miles or Sunway Pals Points for an expanding array of rewards and hence getting more value from their programme. With the collaboration, Enrich members will be able to use their miles at Sunway’s establishments and Sunway Pals members will be able to use their points to redeem for travel and lifestyle rewards.

 

Sunway Group Executive Vice President of President’s Office, Evan Cheah said:

“With the Visit Malaysia Year of 2020 around the corner, inbound and domestic travellers will be able to optimise their reward options exponentially.

Sunway Pals members can now convert their points for Enrich Miles and redeem flights on Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, MASwings, oneworld alliance airlines, partner airlines and for other Enrich lifesyle rewards. Design that defies convention

VivoBook S15 have a metal chassis finished in Moss Green, Punk Pink, Cobalt Blue, Transparent Silver or Gun Metal and VivoBook S14 only have Gun Metal and Transparent Silver, with each color featuring complementing accents to give the laptops color blocking designs that really pop.

The nature inspired Moss Green is paired with Energetic Orange accents to showcase the spirit of exploring the great outdoors, while the street styled Punk Pink with Moss Green trim represents the rebellious streak of a younger generation that’s not afraid to stand up for their beliefs. The BEE Unveiling ‘Live Karaoke Night’

The Bee, well-known for its music prowess, is unveiling the first ever Live Karaoke night, a talent search platform, that will serve as an avenue for Malaysian hopefuls to showcase their potential.

Featuring a rotating concept where the theme, judges and prizes differ each month, The Bee Live Karaoke concept keeps it interesting for participants and provides every performer an equal opportunity to show off their talents.

For one evening a month, in-the-shower soloists; karaoke mic-monopolisers; stuck-in-traffic jammers or Whitney wannabes can bask in the spotlight as they croon and dance to their chosen song. It is a night for family, friends and everyone to enjoy music, drinks, food and performances.

“There are so many talented Malaysians waiting for their big break. For some, it can take years to come, or not at all, which is why we decided to establish a platform for anyone who wants to give their dreams a shot. Live Karaoke is all about giving hidden talent a chance to shine,” said Rahul Kukreja, Director, Brand Partnerships & Talent Bookings, The Bee.

Debuting on October 17, Live Karaoke starts off with ‘Rock’ – a crowd-favourite genre as its theme. Participants will pick a song from a pre-selected list to perform to a panel of judges consisting of industry experts such as local artists, members of music associations, and music label representatives.

The winner of the month will go on to battle it out at a Grand Finale which will be held twice a year. Two grand finalists will then go head to head in a battle for the coveted title and prizes. The winner of the Bi-Annual Grand Finale will receive prizes such as; an opportunity to open for an International Act performing at The Bee in 2020, a mentorship programme on winner’s preferred genre, as well as a pair of The Bee Special pass to any show at The Bee, for one year.

2. Participants to receive registration form and list of songs.
3. Participants are to sign in on the night of the contest with their song selection.
